3 steps to enjoy free overseas accident cover:

  1. Complete confirmation at this website before traveling.
  2. Arrive at your destination and activate the Data Roaming Day Pass. The HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan becomes effective when the Data Roaming Day Pass is activated.
  3. Reactivate the Data Roaming Day Pass next day and HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan becomes effective again.
**Customer who joined and activated i-GUARD Free Travel Protection Plan will be automatically covered by HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan, user information (mobile number and the roaming pass activation dates at overseas) will be sent to the new underwriter - FWD General Insurance Company Limited. Your continued use of the service shall signify your acceptance of the new Terms & Conditions. 

"COVID-19/Pandemic Exclusion" is applicable to policy commenced on/after 1 January 2021, please refer to the Insurance Policy

Please follow claim procedure below to submit your claims:

  1. Please submit your claim directly to the underwriter FWD General Insurance Company Limited (FWDGI) within thirty (30) days of the event taking place.
  2. You can download the claim form at FWD website www.fwd.com.hk. Please quote your 1O1O / csl mobile number and the policy number 740012441 when submitting the claim.
  3. Complete ALL relevant sections & questions on the Claim Form that relate to your claim in full. Missing out details will usually result in FWDGI to contact you for clarification which may delay assessment of your claim.
  4. Ensure that you collate and attach to your claim form ALL the required supporting documents that relate to your claim. Failure to providing such will usually result in FWDGI to contact you for clarification which may delay assessment of your claim.
  5. For prompt assessment of your claim, you may submit the completed Claim Form and supporting documentation by email to claims.gi.hk@fwd.com. Alternatively, you can submit your claim by mail to Claims Department, FWD General Insurance Company Ltd., 9/F, FWD Financial Centre, 308 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong.
  6. Once received the submitted documents, FWDGI will send you an email and/or SMS to confirm receipt of your claim and your claim number.

Required documents to submit in support of your claim:

These are the general required documents for claims. FWDGI reserves the right to request for further information or documents which are not specified below, if necessary.


  • Completed Claim Form;
  • Boarding pass, travel tickets and itinerary;
  • Your latest 1O1O / csl phone bill.

In addition to the above, the following additional supporting documents are required based on the type of claim you are submitting:



Personal Accident Cover

  • Medical report or certificate issued by a Physician certifying the degree or severity of disability;
  • Police report, where relevant.

Accidental Death

  • Death certificate;
  • Coroner’s report;
  • Police report, where relevant;
  • In the event of a disappearance, presumption of death as proclaimed by court.
  • Letter of Administration and/or Probate.

Medical Expenses

  • Diagnosis and treatment, including patient name and date of diagnosis, certified by a Physician;
  • Original Hospital bill/receipt with itemized list issued by a Hospital;
  • Original receipt for purchase of medical equipment.



1. How can I enjoy the free HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan?


  • You must be aged between 18 and 75.
  • Activate your Data Roaming Day Pass before you travel and confirm the use of the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan to enjoy up to HK$350,000 in overseas personal accident cover, and up to HK$5,000 in overseas accident medical expenses. You only need to confirm once, the next time when you use the Data Roaming Day Pass , you will be automatically covered by HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan.


Free HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan Activation Procedure (activate once only)


  1. Complete confirmation at this website before traveling.
  2. Arrive at your destination and activate the Data Roaming Day Pass. The HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan becomes effective when the Data Roaming Day Pass is activated.
  3. Reactivate the Data Roaming Day Pass next day and HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan becomes effective again.


**The HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan is not applicable when using the Aircraft Roaming 24-hour Pass.




2. What does the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan Cover?


  • HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan includes up to HK$350,000 overseas personal accident cover and up to HK$5,000 overseas accident medical expenses.


3. If I activate my Data Roaming Day Pass, is my HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan already effective?


  • You need to first confirm the use of the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan, before it becomes effective.


4. If I use Aircraft Roaming, am I covered?


  • Sorry, the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan is not applicable to the Aircraft Roaming.


5. I am under the age of 18 / over 75, am I covered?


  • Sorry, the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan is only applicable for people aged 18-75.


6. If I use Always-Be-Connected Top-Up Pass, am I covered?


  • Sorry, the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan is only applicable to the Data Roaming Day Pass.


7. If I use DataRoam Day Pass, am I covered?


  • Sorry, the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan is only applicable to the Data Roaming Day Pass.


8. If my Data Roaming Day Pass was redeemed using Club points, am I covered?


  • Yes, activate your Data Roaming Day Pass before you travel, then confirm the use of the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan to enjoy up to HK350,000 in overseas personal accident cover, and up to HK$5,000 in overseas accident medical expenses.


9. I use a Multi-User Service Plan, a telephone number is used by a family member, are they covered?


  • The secondary SIM card user is covered by the HKT Care Worldwide Accident Protection Plan

  • The insurance plan is underwritten by FWD General Insurance Company (“FWD GI”). HKT Care website at www.hktcare.com is operated by HKT Financial Services (IA) Limited (“HKTIA”). HKTIA (Licensed Insurance Agency License No.: FA2474), being registered with the Insurance Authority of Hong Kong (“IA”) as a licensed insurance agency, acts as an appointed licensed insurance agent for FWD GI. 
  • The information is for reference only. Please read the related product brochure, policy provisions, Personal Information Collection Statement of FWD GI and Personal Information Collection Statement of HKTIA before purchasing the insurance product. For enquiries relating to the insurance product, please contact HKT Care Customer Service Hotline at 8209 0098.
